With 1000 Forms Of Fear Sia has managed to erect a musical masterpiece lined with meaningful lyrics and dark undertones, one the songwriter has reserved for only her voice. Throughout the entirety of the album we realize Sia's wide vocal range and rasp through which she has established herself as a vocal powerhouse.
Free The Animals- This song combines a catchy pop beat with an eery melody and in turn creates an intersting synthetic masterpiece. Catchy enough to sing along, however the song has real depth through the lyrics and vocal execution. 8.5/10
Fire Meet Gasoline- For me this songs lack of speed and rythm is saved by Sia's vocals and emotional lyrics. However it dissapoints especially when compared to the rest of the album, I see this song almost as a misfit among an otherwise synchronized album. 6/10
Big Girls Cry- Talk about a vocal and lyrical tour de france, Big girls cry is truly an anthem. Its relatability and overall slow yet intense tempo allows for emotions to be struck almost immediatly. 7.5/10
Elastic Heart- Elastic Heart is a truly unique song if you can find your way through the petifilia controversy. Its darkness is subtle yet so present an element rarely acheived. 8.5/10
Chandelier- The Hit. The definite shing star among the album. Chandelier screams Sia's name from the first second to the last note. Overall this song sums up Sia's Genius in just over 3 minutes. 9/10
Straight For The Knife- Straight For The Knife Includes 1000 Form Of Fear's best hook, enough to cancel out the somewhat boring verses that lack innovation and depth. Overall a good song but dissapoints in catagories Sia usually excels in. 6/10
Fair Game- With a Lacklustre melody this song somehow saves itself with its powerful and much needed message. 5.5/10
Dressed In Black- This song features Sia at her best vocally and delivers powerful lyrics, its length of 6 minutes however destroys the song, you get bored at about 3:25 and most likely commence listening. Overall this song excels vocally but really a 6 minute song.
Hostage- Suprisingly a song named Hostage proves to be the most upbeat and optimistic song of the whole album. Lyrics are hard to understand however the contagious pop beat immediately makes you happy. A Win For Sia. 7/10
Cellophane- The heartbeat beat, dark lyrics, slow tempo and eery echos produce an intersting and almost too dark piece of music. Cellophane is definetly an inquired taste, one I don't enjoy however I can appreciate its originality. 4.5/10
Burn The Pages- Burn the pages to me is the hidden gem of the album, Speed and consistent beats are mantained and the chorus is possibly the best part of the entire album. 8/10
